Without light and gas according to schedules: the expert described a gloomy scenario of winter in Ukraine.

Forecast regarding the energy situation in Ukraine for the winter of 2024-2025
Yurii Korolchuk, an expert at the Institute of Energy Strategies, shared his forecast regarding the energy situation in Ukraine for the winter of 2024-2025 on the air of Den.LIVE. According to him, even if the winter is average, power outages are inevitable.
"The situation in July, if you remember, the duration of the outage was, roughly speaking, 12 hours without electricity. This is the optimistic scenario for December, January, February," noted Korolchuk.
Regarding gas, the expert believes that the situation may be somewhat better, and there may be enough of it, as in previous years. However, if the transit of Russian gas is stopped, problems may arise from January-February.
Korolchuk also does not rule out the possibility of introducing gas supply schedules similar to electricity supply schedules. This may apply to both centralized heating and private consumers.
The expert emphasized that such measures create additional load on the energy infrastructure, particularly on transformers, substations, and gas distribution stations, which increases the risk of accidents. Nevertheless, in Korolchuk's opinion, this may help get through the next winter.
Let us remind you, "Naftogaz" plans to get through the winter with Ukrainian gas.
