Bloomberg: EU prepares new sanctions against Russia's shadow fleet by the end of the year.

EU plans new sanctions against tankers transporting Russian oil
The European Union is developing a new sanctions package aimed at combating the shadow fleet of tankers that Russia uses to deliver its oil to the market. This information was reported by Bloomberg sources who are well acquainted with these issues.
According to sources, the sanctions package is to be approved by the end of the year and also includes penalties for individuals involved in Russian oil trading. EU member countries are currently negotiating the details of the sanctions, which must be agreed upon by all 27 member states.
Recently, the EU has faced difficulties in coordinating sanctions packages due to Hungary's veto during negotiations.
The US, the UK, and the EU have already imposed several rounds of sanctions against many tankers, vessels, and services used to transport Russian oil. The sanctions prohibit companies from G7 countries and the EU from purchasing oil at prices exceeding $60 per barrel.
In response to the sanctions, Moscow has created a hidden fleet of tankers to evade restrictions and continue profiting from the trade.
The EU is also planning to introduce a larger sanctions package, expected to be approved early next year when the presidency of the bloc passes from Hungary to Poland. This package may include additional trade restrictions and new tariffs on Russian agricultural products. It is scheduled to be presented in January with the aim of approval by the third anniversary of Russia's invasion on February 24.
Some countries support the introduction of sanctions against trade in Russian liquefied natural gas.
