Vegetable prices updated again: how much cucumbers and tomatoes cost.


According to the Minfin portal, supermarkets in Ukraine have set prices for cucumbers and tomatoes.
In spring, many Ukrainians include cucumbers and tomatoes in their diet, especially during holidays and on Leading Sunday, when various salads and snacks are prepared.
Red tomatoes cost an average of 112.86 UAH per kilogram, which is less than in March. The cheapest red tomatoes can be bought at the Novus chain for 99.99 UAH per kilogram, while at Megamarket they cost 120.00 UAH.
Pink tomatoes have a higher price - on average 194.70 UAH per kilogram, however, at Metro they cost 249.50 UAH, almost twice as expensive as red varieties.
Smooth cucumbers cost an average of 129.57 UAH per kilogram, slightly cheaper than in March. Short-fruited cucumbers remain at 129.90 UAH, while the 'Estafeta' variety has decreased to an average price of 173.60 UAH compared to 215.62 UAH a month ago.
Depending on the store, prices for cucumbers can vary significantly. For example, at Megamarket, 'Estafeta' cucumbers cost 225.00 UAH per kilogram, while at Auchan they can be found for 139.90 UAH.
