The CEC Criticized the Draft Law on Post-War Elections — What is Wrong

The Deputy Head of the Central Election Commission, Serhii Dubovyk, expressed criticism regarding the new law on post-war elections. According to him, this law does not contain specific solutions regarding ensuring the ability of Ukrainians abroad and military personnel to vote.

Dubovyk voiced his remarks on the Den.LIVE channel, stating:

'For the organizers of the elections, this draft law is of no significance'
.

He emphasized that the focus of the new law is primarily on political aspects, neglecting practical issues of organizing elections in the post-war period.

According to the official, the draft law in its current form resembles a political manifesto rather than a means for conducting elections in a post-war situation.

The CEC Does Not Support the New Electoral Law

It is worth noting that a draft law has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which could become the legal basis for holding elections under special conditions. The Central Election Commission also announced the number of voters outside Ukraine.

The Deputy Head of the CEC expressed outrage regarding the new law on post-war elections, stressing that it does not address issues concerning participation in voting abroad and in wartime conditions. Meanwhile, it is interesting that the draft law itself is focused on political aspects, leaving organizational issues in the background. At the same Time, the Verkhovna Rada is already aware of a draft law that could serve as the foundation for the electoral process in the post-war period, although views on its effectiveness are divided.
