Engineer from 'Pivdenmash' Explained the Main Danger of Russian Nuclear Submarines.

Advisor to the General Director of 'Pivdenmash' and design engineer of rocket and space complexes Oleksandr Levenko stated that Russian nuclear submarines are the most dangerous due to their location far from Ukraine. According to him, American automatic buoys ensure the detection of these submarines due to their spread throughout the ocean.
"They are located far away and we cannot reach them, and for us, this is the biggest threat. However, all nuclear submarines can be easily detected in the ocean because the Americans have scattered automatic buoys everywhere. This is not the case where someone is sitting with headphones listening. The systems are automatic," said Levenko.
According to Levenko, submarines sometimes surface, but they can stay underwater for up to six months. He also talked about the existence of observation systems that operate in the far infrared range and allow tracking objects underwater and underground.
"They use not reflected sunlight but the heat of the Earth's core. When it passes through an object, a shadow is formed on the surface, and by this infrared shadow, one can see - here is a sunken ship, and there - a submarine," explained Levenko.
Levenko emphasized that Ukraine's partners have means to strike submarines, while Ukraine itself does not possess these means. He also noted that the early missile and nuclear warning system in Ukraine is still operational and has seismic sensors monitoring the entire earth's crust.
"Unfortunately, we only have an early missile and nuclear warning system, but we lack striking means," added Levenko.
In October 2022, American intelligence intercepted a conversation of Russian General Sergei Surovikin, in which he discussed the possibility of using nuclear weapons to stop the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine across the Dnipro. Nuclear physicist Volodymyr Krasnorutskyi also noted that under favorable conditions, Ukraine could have the opportunity to develop nuclear weapons within 15 years.
