Kyiv athletes won awards at the World Kickboxing Championship.


Ukrainian athletes from the Kyiv region won six medals at the WAKO World Kickboxing Championship among youth. The competition was held in Budapest from August 23 to September 1. The Ukrainian team took fifth place in the overall ranking and won 16 gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze medals.
The list of winners includes athletes from the Kyiv region. In particular, Anastasia Melnyk became the world champion in the K-1 category, 52 kg, and Danylo Krivenko won the gold medal in the Low-kick category, 48 kg. Tymofiy Pryma became a silver medalist in the K-1 category, 48 kg.
Polina Krysevych was productive on the tatami, winning in the light-contact section and earning a bronze medal in point-fighting. Mariya Honcharuk became a bronze medalist in the point-fighting section.
It should be noted that Ukrainian athletes are also participating in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, where they have already won eight medals.
