Lithuanians refused to stand on the podium with Russians at swimming competitions.


The World Veterans Games are ongoing in Taichung
The World Veterans Games are taking place in the capital of Taiwan from May 17 to 30. After the relay, where the Russians competed under the flag of the aggressor country, Lithuanian athletes refused to stand next to them on the podium and take a joint photo. Later, they went on the podium separately to receive their awards.
As reported, Russian speed skater Ksenia Korzhova, recognized by the International Skating Union (ISU) as a neutral athlete, liked posts supporting the war.
It is noted that Korzhova liked four posts on Instagram supporting the Russian aggression of trusted dictator Vladimir Putin's gymnast Nikita Nagorny. Nagorny has been sanctioned by Ukraine, Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, and the European Union for supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Korzhova, in particular, liked posts featuring Putin, Russian servicemen, and the Russian military organization 'Yunarmiya'.
Russian athletes lost their chance to participate in the Olympics
Four Russian figure skaters were allowed to participate in the Olympic qualifying tournament, but they lost the chance to go to the Olympics because of their support for the war. In pairs skating, Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Galliamov were announced; in ice dancing - Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin.
During the World Veterans Games in Taichung, Lithuanian swimmers expressed their position by refusing to share the podium with Russians due to their support for aggression. Russian athletes, on the other hand, lost the opportunity to participate in the Olympics because of their support for the war.
