Putin planned terrorist attacks in the USA: NYT reported on Biden's administration response.

Biden stopped Russian sabotage on cargo planes
According to an article in The New York Times, the Biden administration uncovered a planned Russian sabotage that could have led to an aviation disaster due to explosive packages on cargo planes.
In the summer of 2024, cargo terminals in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Poland became targets of mysterious fires. US intelligence received information about Russia's plans to initiate military actions on US territory.
As stated by the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas: 'The risk of catastrophic error is evident - sending explosive materials on fully loaded planes.'
The Biden administration used a scenario that was tested in October 2022 to prevent this threat. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and CIA Director William Burns warned Putin about the possible consequences of sabotage in the USA.
The main message was that in case of casualties among the US population as a result of sabotage, Russia would be held accountable for 'aiding terrorism.'
According to officials, these warnings had an effect, and fires in Europe ceased. However, it remains unclear whether Russia completely stopped its operations. There is also a possibility that Russia will use this Time to develop new devices.
Earlier, the European Union imposed sanctions on GRU officers Yuri Sizov and Valery Lipchenko for their involvement in burning and attacks on critical infrastructure in EU countries and Ukraine.
Russian hybrid attacks also included a disinformation operation codenamed 'Doppelgänger,' aimed at a European audience by creating fake websites of international media.
The Czech Foreign Minister reported over 100 incidents in Europe this year related to Russian hybrid attacks and espionage, especially in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
