The Synod of the OCU established the Pochaiv Men's Monastery.

The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has made the decision to open the Pochaiv Holy Spirit Men's Monastery. The decision was made during the meeting on February 2nd. The monastery will be part of the Ternopil Diocese of the OCU at the request of Metropolitan Nestor of Ternopil and Kremenets. Additionally, the Synod has approved the charter of the new religious organization.
It was previously reported that the religious community of the Protection of the Holy Virgin Church in Chernivtsi, in the 'Sadgora' neighborhood, has joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, leaving the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Also, parishioners of the St. Basil's Church in the village of Pidzakharichi appealed to the U.S. government for help. They claim that on January 26th, 'fake meetings' were held in the village, where only 61 people voted to transition to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). Furthermore, parishioners say that many of them were not allowed to attend these meetings and reported threats to the church as well as dangers to women and children.
The parish of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin in the town of Vendichany, which is the center of the united community, has also joined the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC/OCU), but parishioners are prohibited from entering the church.
