A strike by the Russian army on the Sumy Geriatric Boarding House resulted in the death of one person, and 12 others were injured. This was reported by the SES.
Rescuers note that the technical and fifth floors of the building were partially destroyed. 147 people left the boarding house and were evacuated, with no one under the rubble.
Five buses, including two from the SES, as well as two medical teams were involved in transporting patients to the hospital and other boarding houses.
Let us recall that Russian invaders shelled Sumy with guided aerial bombs. The Sumy Geriatric Boarding House, housing 221 elderly people, was targeted by the enemy.
It was also reported that the Russian occupiers carried out a missile strike on Kharkiv at 7 PM on the 19th of September. This strike resulted in the destruction of two private houses in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, and the spread of fire to outbuildings and vegetation.
According to preliminary data, the Russian invaders used ballistic weapons for this attack. The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has already begun criminal proceedings in connection with the violation of the laws and customs of war. Yesterday, Russian military forces also attacked the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts several times.
Let us recall, the European Parliament called on EU member countries to lift restrictions that prevent Ukraine from using Western weapons against legitimate military targets in Russia.
