Ukrainians are buying more bicycles - customs data.

In the first five months of 2025, 223.4 thousand bicycles were imported into Ukraine, which is 20% more than last year. The total value of these two-wheelers amounted to nearly 12 million US dollars, according to the State Customs Service.
As a result of the customs clearance of bicycles, 158.7 million hryvnias in customs fees were paid to the state budget. The main supplier of bicycles remains China, from which 98.7% of all imported two-wheelers were brought in.
'This year's growth demonstrates not just a seasonal trend, but increased interest of Ukrainians in ecological transport,' the customs service noted.
According to the State Customs Service, there is a growing interest in bicycles in Ukraine. This indicates an increase in the popularity of ecological transport among the country's population. Despite the fact that the main supplier remains China, Ukrainians are increasingly choosing bicycles as a means of transportation and leisure.
The growing popularity of bicycles in Ukraine reflects an increased interest among Ukrainians in using ecological transport. This may be due to an effort to reduce the impact on the environment, as well as a desire to engage in a healthy lifestyle. The popularity of bicycles among the population is a positive trend that can contribute to improving the ecological situation in the country and enhancing the physical health of citizens.
