Volunteer, drone developer. Let's remember 19-year-old Maksym Starostin.


Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those who became victims of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we will remember Maksym Starostin.
19-year-old student, volunteer, and drone developer Maksym Starostin from Bilohirya in Khmelnytskyi Oblast was killed during enemy shelling in Donetsk region. This was reported by the publication 'Hlavkom' citing the press service of the Bilohirya village council.
“The trip to Donetsk on June 3 turned into a terrible tragedy. Together with a team of like-minded people, he was caught under enemy fire, which claimed his life. Maksym died at the age of nineteen, having not managed to realize all his plans,” the report says.
Information also indicates that Maksym Starostin was a member of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps and studied at the National Technical University of Ukraine 'KPI' in Kyiv.
“Every free minute of his life he devoted to helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the sake of victory over the enemy. A volunteer, drone developer, Maksym repeatedly transported them to our soldiers himself and participated in testing. He understood the risks, but the desire to be useful overcame his fear,” wrote the village council.
Day of Mourning and Farewell
The memorial service will take place on June 6 at 11:00. After that, the mourning procession will head to the central square, where a farewell ceremony will be held, and then the body of the deceased will be taken to his home and buried in the local cemetery.
June 6 is also declared a Day of Mourning in the territory of the Bilohirya community by the order of the village head.
'Hlavkom' joins in a moment of silence, honoring the memory of all fallen Ukrainians who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state. Memory candles are lit, and heads bow during the nationwide moment of silence, honoring the memory of Ukrainian citizens who died in the struggle against the Russian occupiers and as a result of attacks by enemy troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
