Kyiv City Administration Head and Market Director Detained for Bribery - Details.

The head of the Kyiv City State Administration and the director of the municipal capital market were exposed for receiving a bribe. Law enforcement officers detained them while receiving an illegal benefit of 25 thousand dollars.

This was reported by the Office of the Attorney General on July 17.

Case Details

Law enforcement established that in 2023, one of the entrepreneurs rented municipal property to set up a catering establishment at this market. Later it turned out that the main entrance to the catering establishment is located in an arch of the market building and belongs to the property rented by another entity - the Department of Tourism and Promotions of the Kyiv City State Administration.

According to the Office of the Attorney General, the department uses the arch for placing advertisements and promotions. These structures made it impossible to access the future catering establishment.

'To 'solve' the issue of access to the catering establishment, the official from the Department of Tourism suggested the entrepreneur to hold a meeting and 'buy' her the right to unobstructed access to his premises. To implement this illegal scheme, she also involved the market director, who was supposed to perform intermediary functions and, using his official position, assist in the transfer of the property', the message stated.
